Our Safaris

Into the Wild, Remote Rivers of Tanzania

Day 1

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport.  Your private driver will transfer you to your accommodations in Arusha town.

Day 2

Your driver will escort you to the local Arusha airport where you will board a chartered flight to the wild and remote Katavi National Park.  Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your private safari guide who will accompany you to your stylish and comfortable camp.

Day 3

Choose a dawn to dusk game viewing experience, or return to camp in between game drives for lunch and R&R. Enjoy the massive hippo, buffalo and elephant population as they are drawn to the rivers to drink.

Day 4

Continue your safari watching lion, hyena and other predators who know their prey are drawn to the rivers of Katavi for replenishment.

Day 5

Visiting Katavi is an experience few people are fortunate enough to have.  It is truly as if you have travelled back in time to an untouched wonderland.  Enjoy your final day in Katavi marveling at hippo, crocs, lion, leopards, buffalo, elephant, and all of the amazing African wildlife in abundance here.

Day 6

After a delicious breakfast at camp, you will be transferred to the Katavi airstrip for your scheduled flight to Ruaha National Park in the southern part of Tanzania. Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park, covering 20,200 square kilometers.

Day 7

Enjoy the dramatic landscapes, massive baobab trees and the Great Ruaha River which runs through the park, providing amazing game-viewing experiences. Crocodiles and hippos abound here.

Day 8

By now you have experienced what is believed to be the highest concentration of elephant in East Africa.  In addition, you have undoubtedly witnessed several types of antelope, giraffe, zebra, lion, leopard, cheetah, bat-eared foxes, jackals and perhaps even the endangered wild dog.

Day 9

Last day in Ruaha, but not the least, there are almost 600 species of birds to be found in this national park. Today you will be transferred by air to Selous Game Reserve for your last three nights in paradise.

Day 10

The tracks found in Selous are beaten not by the small number of visitors who come to stay, but by the feet of generations of hippos and elephant whose presence has shaped the landscape at least as much as the river.

Day 11

In Selous you will be treated to dramatic changes in scenery, from woodlands to grassy valleys to lakes and a river of dry sand where game are drawn to the fresh water that flows beneath the surface.  All major mammal species call Selous home – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and even the elusive black rhino. Spend your last evening at this beautiful camp drinking cold drinks and talking story at the camp bar after fishing and canoeing on Rufiji River.

Day 12

Today you will return to Arusha to begin your journey home.  Sad to say goodbye, but you are always welcome back. Karibu Tanzania!
